The evaluation of Tree Cover within
(and adjacent to) development sites with regard to British Standard BS
5837:2005 Trees in Relation to Construction- Recommendations.
Carry out inspections to ascertain tree condition, suitability for retention
(with regard to ‘Safe Useful Life Expectancy’ (S.U.L.E)) and
to aesthetically enhance the development.
Give advice on tree protection measures and building construction methods
required to avoid tree damage.
Pre-Developmental Tree ‘Impact’
Assessment
a) Carry out individual Tree Inspections of Tree Cover within, and adjacent
to, the site, making an assessment of the trees’ overall condition,
S.U.L.E and suitability for retention in line with the proposed development.
b) Assist with site layouts, construction techniques/methods and tree
protection requirements.
c) Prepare proposals for Landscape Design, Tree Planting (specimen trees,
screening, hedging etc.) if required.
d) Liaison with Local Authorities, Site/Development Personnel and interested
parties
Tree
/ Construction Interaction Problems
a) Carry out on site inspections to assist with constructional activities
where problems
have arisen due to the problematic interaction between on site activities
and
adjacent tree cover.
b) Liaison with Local Authorities, Site/Development Personnel and interested
parties.
Post
Developmental Tree ‘Impact’ Assessment
a) Carry out individual Tree Inspections of Tree Cover within and adjacent
to the site, assess their condition following Site Development and possible
problems which
may arise due to the ‘interaction’ between on site activities
and adjacent tree cover.
b) Liaison with Local Authorities, Site/Development Personnel and interested
parties.
Site Enhancement
a) Assess sites for Landscape Designs, Tree Planting etc. to enhance proposed
or existing developments. (Especially applicable to help advance proposed
developments with Local Authorities due to possible constructional conditions
imposed by Local Authorities.)
b) Liaison with Local Authorities, Site/Development Personnel and interested
parties.
Costs
a) £ 120.00 per hour (minimum charge
of X 4 hours. 1 to 4 trees) plus VAT.
b) Report costs are determined by:
1) Number of trees (X 1 tree per hour).
2) Report brief by clients.
3) Location of site.
